In accordance with UUK’s , we maintain procedures for ensuring that allegations of research misconduct can be properly investigated and addressed. Research misconduct can include fabrication; falsification; plagiarism; failure to meet legal, ethical or professional obligations; and misrepresentation of data, involvement, interests, qualifications and publication history.
How allegations are investigated depends on the whether the individual concerned is a student or staff member:
- Following amendments approved by the Academic Council in 2020/21, allegations of research misconduct against undergraduate and taught postgraduate students are now investigated under the ;
- Allegations against postgraduate research students are investigated under the ;
- Allegations against staff are investigated under the .
