We have today received notification from the Office for Students (OfS) that we have been assessed as Gold in the Teaching Excellence Framework 2023 (TEF 23).
This is a significant achievement and key milestone as we deliver the objectives set out in our Strategy 2030 and our Student Success sub strategy.
Our TEF Submission was made to the OfS in January and highlighted key areas of work including examples of our authentic curricula and interactive pedagogy.
The positive OfS assessment recognised our activity on course content and delivery, learning environment and resources, approaches to supporting student success and approaches to supporting educational gains.
We were judged to be Gold for Student Experience and Silver for Student Outcomes, with an overall judgment of Gold, which means that the student experience and student outcomes at the university are classed as ‘typically outstanding’.
Well done to everyone for your hard work, and especially Professor Jane Roscoe, Professor Jenny Marie, Gemma Mansi and all the faculty teams, led by the Associate Deans of Student Success for their work on our submission.
The Vice-Chancellor's Executive team will be holding thank you and celebration events for all staff across our three campuses in the first few weeks of 2024 – look out for more information on the portal.
