Personal Development Planner

A career-planning workbook for teachers and careers advisors to use in the classroom

Personal Development Planner (PDP) is a six-week course with each lesson lasting approximately 60 minutes however activities can be broken down and tailored to fit in with the school time-table. The resource comprises a student workbook and a teachers' guide, lesson plans and activities.

Students are asked to reflect on their skills and abilities and how these will impact on their future career. This engaging resource can be used to support the delivery of PSHE, CEIAG or work-experience preparation.

This resource can be used in conjunction with our digital resource Planning My Future.

The PDP offers schools the opportunity in a difficult financial landscape to either deliver the PDP as part of the careers curriculum or as a standalone package. It's clear and thought provoking and has been well accepted in schools as great preparation for a young person's career journey

Careers Strategy

The Government's Careers Strategy uses the Gatsby Benchmarks to set out a range of requirements that schools and colleges must meet. We have matched all of our activities to these, and this activity can support you with meeting benchmark 1 and 2.
