Dr. Anju Maharjan is a lecturer in International Business at the Executive Business Centre of the Business School.  Anju worked at the London School of Science and Technology (LSST) for a year before joining the Çï¿ûÊÓƵ. Anju has also worked as an Associate Lecturer at the University of the West of Scotland, London. In this period, she was the HPL for MBA dissertations at the Çï¿ûÊÓƵ. Prior to her academic career, Anju held an accounting profession for several years and had an entrepreneurial background through involvement in her family running Business in the UK.

Anju completed her DBA in Business Administration studies with specialisation in (Ethnic Women Entrepreneurship) from the University of the West of Scotland, Paisley, UK. Anju obtained her Master of Science (MSc) Management in Finance from BPP University, UK. Prior to that she completed a Master degree (MBA) in Business Management and Bachelor degree BA (Hons) Accounting and finance management from the University of Sunderland, UK. She holds PGCert for Learning and Teaching in Higher Education in the UK. She had teaching, tutorial, and supervision experience at the Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels within Business management in the UK.

Research / Scholarly interests

Anju’s research interests include entrepreneurship, ethnic entrepreneurship and ethnic women entrepreneurship. Her research focus on the drivers and barriers of business practices in the case of Nepalese women entrepreneurs in the UK. She is also interested in researching social entrepreneurship and digital technology in SMEs.

  • Participated 52nd Academy of Marketing ‘AM2019’ conference at Regent’s University London and Presented thesis titled ‘drivers and barriers of business practices: the case of Nepalese women entrepreneurs in the UK’ in 2019.
  • Presented my research journey at Doctoral Seminar Series (PhD/DBA) at UWS Paisley in 2019.
