Professor Dotun Adebanjo
Professor of Supply Chain Management
Dotun Adebanjo is Professor of Supply Chain Management at the Çï¿ûÊÓƵ. He joined the Çï¿ûÊÓƵ in February 2013. He was previously Lecturer and Senior Lecturer at the University of Liverpool Management School. Earlier in his career, he was a Senior Researcher and Consultant at Leatherhead Food Research Association – a role which enabled him to support business improvement and excellence in the Food and Drinks sector in the UK and beyond.
Professor Adebanjo's research reflects his industry and academic journey and he enjoys working at the interface of academic research and industry practice. His primary areas of research are Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Technology Management and Total Quality Management. His research has been published extensively in academic journals, conferences, books, practitioner journals and industry reports.
Professor Adebanjo's research has focused significantly on emerging economy countries, particularly in Asia. His research has examined and supported the work of important 'gateway' organisations including the Asian Productivity Organisation (APO) and Dubai Government Excellence Programme (DGEP). From 2016 to 2019, he was a subject expert and International Judge for the 'Dubai We Learn' benchmarking initiative. He holds the visiting position of Bualuang ASEAN Chair Professor at Thammasat University, Bangkok from 2019 to 2021. He has also been an associate researcher and subject expert for the Centre for Organisational Excellence Research at Massey University, New Zealand for more than 10 years.
Professor Adebanjo's research has been funded by several organisations including the UK Government (MAFF, DEFRA, DTI, TSB), the European Union (ERDF, ETC), Northwest Food Alliance (NWFA) and Bangkok Bank (Bualuang Award).

Research / Scholarly interests
Professor Adebanjo's research interests are in the field of Operations and Supply Chain Management. Much of his recent focus has been on how technology enables interaction and business-to-business relationships within the supply chain. His research has increasingly been examining supply chain management within the context of developing economies which is driven not just by increasing globalisation but also by a need to improve quality of life. This theme has enabled Professor Adebanjo to build strong research collaborations with academic colleagues in Asia, Africa and the Centre for Organisational Excellence Research (COER) at Massey University in New Zealand. He also currently supervises doctoral studies field of Operations and Supply Chain Management. A second theme of his research is in the field of total quality management with a particular focus on Benchmarking and Business Excellence. He has also provided support and expertise to support the 'Dubai We Learn' Benchmarking Initiative of the Dubai Government Excellence Programme and COER.
