Dr Munazzah Iqbal

Teaching Fellow in Business Management

Dr Munazzah Iqbal is a Teaching Fellow at the Çï¿ûÊÓƵ. Prior to joining the Çï¿ûÊÓƵ, she worked as a Business Lecturer at a higher education institution in London, UK. She is recognized as a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, having been awarded a PGCert (HE during her time at Aston. She is passionate about enhancing the student learning experience and believes that the drive to learn makes the process more enjoyable when motivation is sparked.

Dr Iqbal holds a PhD in Business and Social Sciences from Aston University in Birmingham. Prior to pursuing her PhD, she graduated with an MBA in Global Business from Coventry University in 2017. During her MBA studies, she distinguished herself as a high achiever and was awarded a Level 7 Certificate in Strategic Management and Leadership (CMI). Alongside her PhD, she also earned a Postgraduate Certificate in Social Sciences.

As a researcher, she is deeply interested in how individuals work in teams and perceive their differences, particularly in terms of deeper-level attributes that influence the emergence of collective fairness perceptions. Her research focuses on how these perceptions help individuals better navigate fairness issues within their teams. With workplaces becoming increasingly diverse, inclusivity is often challenged by fairness perceptions and the leadership that shapes them. In her research, she has explored the team-level effects of deep-level diversity on fairness perceptions, the sense-making process, ethical leadership, diversity management practices, performance, and cohesion. Her work employs a multi-method approach, examining these dynamics among diverse populations, including employees and managers, in the Middle East.
