Professor Petros Ieromonachou
Associate Dean, Research & Knowledge Exchange
Prof Ieromonachou is the Associate Dean for Research and Knowledge Exchange for the Greenwich Business School. He previously led the Department for Systems Management and Strategy since 2012. He is an experienced educator and curriculum designer, capable in managing large teaching and research teams; a successful organiser of projects and budgets, and skilled mentor of students and staff. He is also the founder of Connected Cities Research Group and co-director of Networks and Urban Systems Centre of Excellence. Backed by several years of experience, he has been involved in externally funded projects in the UK, Europe and Asia. With a research specialisation in urban systems management, he focuses invariably on urban business ecosystems and operations and utilises a variety of theories and knowledge including strategic niche management, transitions, system dynamics and neo-institutional theory. Regularly invited as speaker to international urban forums, he serves as member of various journal and conference boards and has influenced learning and research at several international institutes.
Prof Ieromonachou has written, managed and delivered various courses on business, transportation and logistics management. He is a research active academic with wide ranging interests and experience 鈥� transportation policy and management, green logistics and supply chains, energy and sustainable development, strategic niche analysis, urban studies, manufacturing ecosystems and smart cities. Previously, he worked at the Open University, where he also served for several years as visiting Research Fellow in the Design Group of the Faculty of Mathematics, Computing & Technology.
Prof Ieromonachou established 'Connected Cities', a multi鈥恉isciplinary research group which builds on a variety of theories and knowledge, including system dynamics, discrete choice analysis, neo鈥恑nstitutional theory, strategic niche management, social network theory and decision analysis. The mission of this group is to bring together different expertise to explore the expanding urban challenges and opportunities to improve quality of life, competitiveness and sustainability of cities. He extended his network by establishing an international research forum between the 秋葵视频 and collaborative partner Universities in China, Vietnam and Malaysia, and through organising an annual research workshop on 'Smart Urban Policy Futures'. Since 2018 he became co-director of the Network and Urban Systems Centre of research excellence at the 秋葵视频.

Research / Scholarly interests
Prof Ieromonachou's main research interest is policy development which focuses among other topics on sustainable urban transport systems – city logistics relating to the movement of passengers and products, transport provision and management, as well as urban infrastructure systems for transport, waste and energy, control theory, innovative technology for transport systems, electric and autonomous vehicles, sustainable agribusiness and greening the supply chain. Backed by several years of experience, he has been involved in a number of funded projects, primarily in the UK and Europe. Regularly invited as speaker to international forums, serves as member of various journal and conference boards and has influenced teaching and learning in several international institutes.
