Young-Chan Kim is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of International Business and Economics at the 秋葵视频, London. His main research before joining the University was international business and foreign direct investment among Asian multinational enterprises, with several publications: 'Newly Industrialising Economies and International Competitiveness' (Palgrave, 2006), 'Challenging Globalisation and Post-Crisis Reform' (Chandos Publication, 2009).

Since 2010, he intensively focused on China and global business and published 'Chinese Global Production Networks in ASEAN' (Springer, 2015), 'US Firms' Business Competence in the Taiwanese IT Industry' (Springer, 2016), 'China and Africa' (Palgrave, 2017), 'Chinese Digital Economy' (Palgrave, 2018), ‘China and India’ (Springer, 2020), ‘China and BRI’ (Palgrave, 2021), and forthcoming ‘Far East Asian Regional Integration: decolonised’ (2022) & ‘China and the Islamic World’ (2023).

He recently concluded a tenure at Academia Sinica in Taiwan and was a recipient of the Taiwan Foreign Office Scholarship. In 2020, he was recognised as a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Young-Chan is currently the Chief Editor of the ‘Made in China 2025’ project series, which was one of the most downloaded e-books in the field of ‘China and Asian studies’ (Palgrave/Springer). The series is aimed at giving up-and-coming academics a platform to voice their contemporary research on Chinese Regional Studies.
