Dr Mamodesan Okumagba PhD, DDPH RCS (Eng), MSc, MBA, BDS, FRSPH, FHEA

Lecturer in Public Health

Mamodesan Okumagba joined the School of Human Sciences as a lecturer in Public Health in January 2024. He is affiliated with the Centre for Professional Workforce Development at the Institute for Lifecourse Development.

Mamodesan completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Benin, an MSc in Dental Public Health from the University College London, a Master of Business Administration from Delta State University, a Diploma in Dental Public Health from the Royal College of Surgeons of England, and a PhD in Public Health from the University of Central Nicaragua. He has also worked as a health tutor at the University of Essex Online / Kaplan Open Learning and as a lecturer in Public Health at Delta State University, Nigeria.

Mamodesan's research focuses on developing innovative platforms and vehicles for health promotion and disease reduction in society. His other research interests include medical education, health policy, dental public health, and health systems. Mamodesan has taught at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He is currently involved with the Cultural Competence in Health and Social Care module and the Global Context for Public Health module. He also supervises MSc projects.
