Senior Lecturer, Perioperative Nursing

Geeta Hardath is a Senior Lecturer in Perioperative Nursing in the School of Health Sciences at the Çï¿ûÊÓƵ.

Geeta has over 20 years expertise in perioperative nursing and lectures across both pre-registration and post- registration nursing programmes. She coordinates many post-registration courses, and her lecturing interest focusing on perioperative care and management, and management of pain.

Geeta supervises undergraduate research projects and is a personal tutor for students, leading on professional tutor groups within the pre-registration adult nursing programme.

She also contributes to student recruitment, liaising and maintaining relationships with local NHS Trusts and trust colleagues. As a Link tutor she provides support and pastoral care to students on clinical placements as well as the mentors on clinical assessments and audits these learning environments to ensure they meet professional requirements.

Geeta has developed productive relationships with members of staff both across the university and with external professional bodies to ensure courses are delivered to the standard required and also mentors new academic colleagues to achieve the professional standards within their role.

Recognition

Research / Scholarly interests

Her research interests are E-Learning and teaching, and learning strategies for students with English as a second language.
