Senior Lecturer in Psychology

Rosemary joined the Çï¿ûÊÓƵ as a Lecturer in 2021. She has since been promoted to Senior Lecturer, was Programme Leader for the MSc Psychology (Conversion) and is now an Academic Portfolio Lead for the Psychology and Counselling Portfolio.

Research / Scholarly interests

Rosemary’s research to date has mainly concerned prejudice and discrimination, particularly regarding gender, sexualities, and their interrelation - as well as the intersection of other social categories – from a critical social psychological perspective. Her most recent work has focussed on what ‘everyday’ (hetero)sexism looks like in practice; how it becomes relevant and is managed in interactions; and to what effects, for instance in terms of identity, conflict/resolution and the (re)production of inequalities. She has also recently published work on the support of seemingly non-egalitarian political ideologies amongst women and sexual minorities, drawing upon various social psychological perspectives.
