Ana Paula Palacios

Dr Ana Paula Palacios BSc, MSc, PhD, FHEA

Senior Lecturer in Statistics

Ana Paula’s research interests are in the development, application and dissemination of statistical and machine learning methods. Her research focusses on stochastic processes, Markov chain Monte Carlo algorithms and Bayesian methods.  She has participated in various multidisciplinary projects in fields such as biology, language, criminology and industrial applications.

Before joining Greenwich, Ana Paula was a Lecturer at Plymouth University and earlier at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, where she also obtained here PhD with cum laude distinction in October 2012.

Ana Paula is a leader and founding member of the Science Practice Hub, a space for researchers across faculties to reflect on science practices and share expertise with the aim to strength the capability of research. In this role, she promotes the use of data science in cross-disciplinary research and regularly organises workshops on quantitative methods.

Ana Paula is a HEA fellow with broad teaching experience in both undergraduate and postgraduate level. Students have nominated her multiple times for the teaching excellence award. Building on her knowledge and experience in data science, she has recently become the academic liaison between the Çï¿ûÊÓƵ and the .
