Mr Carlos Eduardo Pires
Postgraduate Researcher
Carlos Eduardo Pires holds a Bachelor's degree in Communication Studies from Universidade de Araraquara (Brazil), a Postgraduate Certificate in Art History from Fundação Armando Alvares Penteado (Brazil), and a Master's degree from the University of East London (UK). During his MA, Carlos Eduardo (Cadu) focused on participatory performance and the role of intimacy in engaging audiences. He explored how individuals become involved in narratives and what memories they are willing to share. His dissertation investigated how autobiographical dramaturgy, combined with a one-to-one format, can facilitate an exchange of intimacy between performer and spectator. Carlos Eduardo received the Çï¿ûÊÓƵ Vice-Chancellor's PhD Scholarship, which supports his research on intimacy, community engagement, and one-to-one performances. His work aims to develop a methodology using practice-based research to engage with Woolwich (Southeast London) community narratives and guide future arts policies. Combining theatrical expertise with audience data insights, Carlos Eduardo also develops experiential projects that enable organisations and brands to create remarkable experiences through relevant content and compelling narratives. His career is dedicated to creating multi-platform content, interactive activations, performance artworks, cultural projects, and narrative-based experiences that connect organisations with people through meaningful events. |
