Our priorities
The overall purpose of our Research & Knowledge Exchange (KE) sub-strategy is to contribute to positioning us as the Best Modern University by: achieving significant and measurable societal, social, cultural and economic impact, ensuring academic excellence, and informing our learning and teaching with our research, knowledge exchange and practice.

Research and Knowledge Exchange sub-strategy KPIs
By 2030, we will know we have been successful if:
- We increase our research income to 10% of university revenues;
- We increase our REF power score to 2,000;
- We increase our PGR population to 900
- We increase our PRES score to >90% satisfaction.
- We ensure that knowledge exchange represents 10% of total university revenues
- We are in the top 10% of our peer group in five of the seven perspectives in the KEF.
- All staff on teaching/research and research-only contracts to be engaged in measurable research (including pedagogical research), practice or KE.
- We have >25% of staff engaged in pedagogical research.
