To test the students’ performance against the educational objectives of breadth, depth and synthesis of knowledge in this area of Land Law; to train students in problem solving skills (the application of knowledge to factual scenarios), research skills, and in reading and understanding complex formal legal documents.

On successful completion of this module a student will be able to:
1. Describe and explain important aspects of the Law of England and Wales relating to rights and interests over land.
2. Apply the relevant law to factual scenarios.
3. Research at an appropriate level for a level 5 law student into this area of law using a variety of primary and secondary sources both paper and electronic.
4. Read and understand complex legal documents relating to land law, for example registers of title.
5. Write both time-limited and word-limited assignments at an appropriate level for a level 5 law student.
6. Reflect on your learning in class and on feedback from assignments.

The course will be taught through a combination of lectures and seminars and self-directed learning under supervision, web forums support some assessments. Seminars will be designed to teach a variety of skills including independent research, group work, case studies, presentations, practical exercises and problem solving, supervised practical sessions tutorials formative assessment other scheduled time Guided independent study Note: include in guided independent study preparation for scheduled sessions, follow up work, wider reading or practice, revision and Independent coursework.

Outline Details: een multiple choice questions based on a case study including a legal document, which is used for both formative and summative assessment. Students are encouraged to ask questions and undertake independent research during the preparation period, but must reproduce answers under timed conditions.

Outline Details: Problem solving assignment requiring independent research and application of relevant law on a subject which will not be lectured. Research log completed as the student works.

Outline Details: 2 hour Unseen examination paper comprising 4 questions out of which 2 must be attempted.
