This includes research undertaken by staff, students, visiting or emeritus staff, associates, contractors and consultants.
Implementing ethical principles
In order to embed these principles, and recognising its obligations to the wider research community, to the funders of research and to society as a whole to uphold the integrity of academic research, the Çï¿ûÊÓƵ is committed to implementing the principles and commitments of the .
The UUK concordat's five commitments are:
- maintaining the highest standards of rigour and integrity in all aspects of research
- ensuring that research is conducted according to appropriate ethical, legal and professional frameworks, obligations and standards
- supporting a research environment that is underpinned by a culture of integrity and based on good governance, best practice and support for the development of researchers
- using transparent, robust and fair processes to deal with allegations of research misconduct should they arise
working together to strengthen the integrity of research and to reviewing progress regularly and openly.
Key policies

- Procedures for Investigating Research Misconduct - documents the procedures that the university will adhere to when investigating any allegation of research misconduct
- - encouraging a high quality research and enterprise culture, with the highest possible standards of integrity and practice
- - the framework and criteria in the assessment, examination and awarding of a university research award.
- - GRE risk assesses projects and funders as part of the bid management process. The Ethical Research Collaboration Policy sets out the process by which an increased risk would be managed.
